U of M Team Pool Championships (UMTPC)
This annual intercollegiate 4-person team tournament--one of only three like it in the country--is held at the University of Michigan in late Fall / early Winter. The 2013 UMTPC, our 10th Annual event, is tentatively scheduled for
November 1-3, 2013
This just so happens to be the weekend when Daylight Savings Time ends (we gain an hour on Saturday night). This was a huge benefit in 2011 and 2012 (we need all the time we can get!) so it's convenient that Michigan Football plays out of town that weekend again in 2013.
General Information About the UMTPC:
This is a 3-day team event, starting on Friday afternoon and ending on Sunday evening, usually around 8PM. This depends largely upon the number of entries and the speed/pace of play. Teams vie for the title in each of three events, plus the coveted all-around title. Trophies and medals are awarded for each event as well as the all-around total. Because time is of the essence, the field is limited to 16 teams. Each team is comprised of 4 players plus an (optional) alternate. Each school must have a coach/advisor. This person can be a staff/faculty member or a reliable, responsible student team member. The coach/advisor cannot play in the tournament. Tournament site is the University of Michigan, specifically the Michigan Union Billiards & Games Room, 2nd floor, 530 S. State, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
