Making it through finals as the weather warms up and forcibly pulls your spirit toward the sun and greenish grass is never easy. To help, we’ve come up with some helpful tips to give you strength to fight the FOMO and focus. (And trust us, there aren’t that many people hanging out on their roofs anyway.)
- Don’t work near windows. The dungeon room in your basement may seem perfect, but it also has spiders and inexplicable dampness, so we suggest somewhere like the League Underground. It doesn’t have any windows, plus it has all those great food smells to remind you have everything you need right there in front of you.
- Turn off your cell phone. Your real friends are the people diligently studying next to you. Plus, you’ve got your Griffin sandwich to whisper to and a calming Chai Latte in your hand. There’s no room for a phone or outside distractions here. (Oh, and while you’re at Beanster’s can you grab us a St. Charles? Yeah, the whole. Thanks.)
- Eat only hot foods. This is to trick your mind into thinking it’s winter still and the best place to be is inside. Chili from Wendy’s is a pretty wintery food, so stock up on that and keep drinking that coffee. (Don’t eat meat? Have one of every soup at Beanster’s. Tell them to make it “souper” hot. They’ll think you’re hilarious and want to be your friend.)
We’re confident these tips will work for you, but, of course, results will vary. Got other tips? Tweet them at us @UmichUnions. We can all use all the help we can get.
