As fall activities and events begin full swing, you may be looking for a productive space to host a student org meeting, an adaptable group study space for those long nights of studying, or even a place to sit-back and relax with some friends. Whatever your needs, the Unions are here to help by providing the best room possible! Although there are many cozy and social public places to meet, such as Fireside Cafe and the League Underground, student org events sometimes call for a more private space. Here is a simple step-by-step guide to reserving a room for your student organization in any of the three University Unions locations--Michigan League, Michigan Union, and Pierpont Commons.
1. Pick a union!
With three locations, choosing a University Union that is closest to you and your needs is simple! With the Michigan League and Michigan Union conveniently located on Central Campus, and Pierpont Commons located on North; the University Unions are always accessible to all student organizations. Each Union provides the necessary spaces for every type of meeting and event. Choose the one most convenient for you!
2. Find a room.
With over 40 rooms to choose from, you are sure to find a space perfect for any occasion. Some of our favorites: the Crofoot room in the Michigan Union for an intimate fall kick-off party and the Executive Suite in Pierpont Commons for a productive student organization board meeting. 3. Reserve your room.
Now that you have chosen where you would like to meet, it is important to make sure the space can be reserved for the date and time of your choice. In order to begin the process online, you will need to follow this link to the Conferences and Events online room request site.* Submit your preferred date, time, and University Union building, then choose from a list of available rooms. Ta-dah! You have just reserved an awesome space! For those of us who like to kick it old school, you can also reserve a room by calling (734) 764-8837; just make sure to have all of your student organization information on hand!
*University Union spaces can only be reserved through an official University of Michigan student organization with a SOAS shortcode.
