Legendary League
The Michigan League has been a beloved spot for weddings and other special events. The historic building has meeting rooms, fine dining facilities, study areas, a theater, and a beautiful fountain where many couples take their wedding photos.
In 1929, the Michigan League was formally opened, and it was a grand structure built for and by the women of the University of Michigan. Women’s social and literary groups used the building for meetings, and dances were part of the social scene. In 1992, the Michigan League became one of the three University Unions, joining the Michigan Union and Pierpont Commons, within the Office of Student Life.
Over the years, the Friends of the Michigan League has raised money and awareness of the building. A group of volunteers recently launched an free iBook -- The Michigan League: A History, which is available at the iTunes Store and best downloaded through the iBooks app on a Mac (OS X 10.9 or later), iPad, or with the iTunes app on other computers.
