Ah, summertime in Ann Arbor. The grass is greener, the weather warmer, and the desire to be outside increases tremendously. There is no doubt about it, campus is beautiful during the summer months and spending time relaxing with friends in the Arb or finding a cozy tree to study under in the Diag is definitely a must. So when you are need of a refreshing break from the outdoors, the Unions have got you covered.
One of the best ways to utilize the Unions during the summer is to take advantage of all of the free (and air conditioned) lounge spaces. Whether it be the Piano Lounge in Pierpont Commons, or the Michigan League lobby area, you are guaranteed to find a comfortable and cool space to sit back and take some time off from the Michigan heat with a Beanster’s Smoothie. Looking to refresh with a cool beverage at the Union? The first floor houses both Starbucks and Au Bon Pain--two cafes that specialize in iced coffees and teas that are sure to cool down any heat wave. When you are in need of some indoor fun, make sure to also check out the Billiards and Games room located on the second floor of the Michigan Union. With pool and foosball tables, video games, card tournaments, and more, you are bound to find the perfect afternoon break right inside the Michigan Union.
