As of 10/9, five "A" teams and one "B" team have registered for the 10th Annual UMTPC:
California University of Pennsylvania
West Virginia University
"B" Team Wait List:
#2 West Virginia University
Wondering why we have A-teams and B-teams?
Only 16 teams can feasibly fit into the tournament. It has always been a goal of mine for the UMTPC to have representation from 16 unique schools. We have never reached that goal, but we always have a full field, so I leave registration open until 10/25 (one week before the tournament) for new schools, or schools that have not participated in a few years. If you know that you have sufficient interest at your school to support two teams, you can register a B-team before the early bird deadline to save money; this will get you a spot on the B-team wait list. If, as of 10/25, all 16 spots are not filled, the first wait list spot will be given to the University of Michigan (sorry folks--we're the hosts, and I conceived, founded, and created this event so my students will retain this privilege as long as I'm breathin') and then to the teams on the wait list, in the order in which they registered. If you don't get chosen, you will be issued a full refund. But please bear in mind that registering a B-team is a financial commitment; you won't necessarily get a full refund if you cancel or fail to show up.
Here again for your convenience is the link to online registration, hosted by ACUI. Remember: register your TEAM first (this is when you pay) and then register your INDIVIDUAL PLAYERS, one by one (no charge beyond what you pay for registering the team). http://member.acui.org/core/
