THE MICHIGAN UNION:
THE HEART OF MICHIGAN
The Michigan Union is one of the University’s most enduring treasures. At the center of campus, this welcoming space encourages our community to gather, connect, and engage. On the threshold of its second century, this iconic building is currently undergoing essential restoration and preservation.
“For almost 100 years, the Union has been the place the university family gathers to celebrate, collaborate, remember and create what is truly special about Michigan.”
E. Royster Harper, Vice President, Student Life
LOOKING FORWARD. GIVING BACK.
The Michigan Union is where, every day and in every season, plans are made, dreams are dreamed and memories are created. Give today and help us continue the mission to foster an inclusive community and enrich the Michigan experience by providing places, programs and services that enable students to gather, connect, engage and lead.
The renovation of the Michigan Union is your opportunity to establish a permanent and lasting connection to the Michigan Union, its mission, and to Michigan students for generations come. Give today, and help us to preserve this space for community, learning and scholarship.
The Michigan Union is a place where students form friendships, make connections, and learn more about themselves. In addition to providing a space for students to thrive, the Michigan Union also offers programs, workshops, activities and leadership opportunities. Contributing to these programs offers an additional way to support the transformative experiences that the Michigan Union fosters.
Imagine a place where ideas collide and students collaborate to ignite innovation; where students experiment with and demonstrate leadership; where scholars come together to incubate ideas that will improve campus life and serve the public good. In this welcoming and flexible environment, Michigan’s 1,500 student organizations will have the resources, the connections, and the space to meet, exchange ideas, and imagine.
Within this innovative space, it is the programming that fuels the creative spark, provides practical guidance and direction, and encourages exploration. Programming examples could include a speaker series, workshops, or expert alumni panels on a range of relevant topics.
Michigan Union Fellows Program
The Michigan Union Fellows support, organize and facilitate collaboration, outreach, programming and leadership activities in the IdeaHub among student organizations. Additionally, Fellows will engage in numerous leadership training and mentoring activities to develop professional and academic skills. Fellows scholarship support will be need-based in order to create educational opportunities for students.
