"UAC (University Activities Center) was my sorority. It was where I spent much of my free time, in the offices on the 2nd floor. I have such fond memories of walking in there seeing all of the UAC event posters hanging on the walls and Norma Jean, our receptionist always smiling. Some of my best friends were made thru UAC in planning for Michigras, Grease and some Coffee talk game show who’s exact name I can no longer remember."

"My wife and I met working in the Union in 1990. She worked at the CIC desk and I was a night Building Manager. Probably spent more time in the Union than any place on campus. I love that building and so happy it is being renovated.
My second best memory was seeing the Red Hot Chili Peppers play the U Club. For current students, there used to a bar in the Union. Flea, the lead singer, came out for a set wearing only a milk carton cut in half. Rod, the Union campus security officer, the bar manager, and I (since I was the building manager that evening) had to ask him to put on more cloths. That was really weird, but when those guys came out wearing their tighty whiteys for the MTV Music Awards show a few years later, I was not surprised."

"Stayed there my first night after arriving from Honolulu, prior to moving into South Quad. I used to buy used textbooks in the bookstore in the basement. Bowled at the small bowling alley that was attached. I still drop by there when my wife and I come to A2 for football and hockey games."

"I used to play poker inside of the U-Club every Monday night. It was something i very much looked forward to every week. Made some of the best friends of my life. I am going to the Final Four next week with 2 of them, and 1 of them is a groomsman in my wedding!"

"I ducked in through a side door (my shortcut to Amer's) one Saturday afternoon, and discovered that people get married in the Union on weekends.... by walking through a wedding party."

"Watching from the pool hall Attorney General Edwin Meede get pelted by snowballs on his way to a talk at the Law School.
Oh and the old phone booths always remind me of collect calls home."
