Welcome to Michigan, Wolverines! We know this is an exciting time and that you’re probably feeling a mixture of emotions: nervousness, excitement, and curiosity. To get started, we’ve shared some of the ways that University Unions will enhance your experience at U-M.

Michigan Union (Central Campus)
The IdeaHub is a collaborative space where student organizations meet. It includes a Creation Studio for projects like painting posters and Movement Studios for the student orgs that feature dance. Learn more about student organizations at Maize Pages.
The Courtyard is an enclosed, all-season space perfect for studying, meeting friends for coffee, hosting events, and more.
When you need support, there are student services to help. From Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) to Multi-Ethnic Student Affairs (MESA) and the Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center (SAPAC).
The Center for Campus Involvement (CCI) is your campus resource for getting involved.
The Michigan Union Ticket Office (MUTO) is where you can purchase tickets for campus events, shows at The Ark, and get your football tickets validated.
Buy your textbooks, spirit wear, and school supplies at Barnes and Noble.
Visit the Tech Shop to purchase a new computer, other electronics and accessories, and get repairs.
Michigan League (Central Campus)
Maizie’s Kitchen & Market offers made-to-order entrees, La Colombe coffee, and grab-and-go sandwiches and snacks, as well as a variety of seating options perfect for hanging out with friends and studying.
One of the most peaceful spots on campus, the Outdoor Garden is great for relaxing and enjoying nice weather. (It’s truly a hidden gem!)
Get tickets for shows, festivals, and plays at the University Musical Society Ticket Office (UMS).
The lower level, known as The Underground, is a great place to meet friends or practice for a performance.
The Inn at the Michigan League is our very own on-campus hotel where your family and friends can stay when they visit.
The Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre is an intimate theatre that seats 600 and showcases smaller performances, lectures, and conferences.
If you’re interested in social justice education, workshops, leadership training, and hands-on opportunities with community organizations, connect with the Ginsberg Center.
Pierpont Commons (North Campus)
Visit Barnes and Noble to stock up on spirit wear, supplies, and buy your textbooks.
Purchase new gadgets and get your computer repaired at the Tech Shop.
Head to the Piano Lounge to enjoy relaxed lighting, study tables, multiple computer stations, and comfortable chairs.
The Atrium is a bright, cheerful spot perfect for soaking up some vitamin D.
Practice self-care with massage chairs, yoga and meditation tools, and light therapy at the CAPS Wellness Zone.
Commons Corner is a versatile space that houses a large-screen TV, full-size pool table, and comfortable seating.
