The University Unions Advisory Board (UUAB) serves as an advisory group that includes students, staff, faculty and alumni to provide insights for UU leadership to ensure University Michigan’s student union spaces, services, and programs effectively support the campus community, fostering student engagement and belonging. Members provide feedback and advocate for campus needs regarding facility use and future renovations, food and services, and campus involvement initiatives.
Purpose
- The UUAB exists to advise University Unions leadership on advancing UU’s Mission and how UU’s spaces, services, and programs can best serve the University of Michigan community. The Board will:
- Provide ongoing feedback on operations, programs, student engagement, services, customer experience, communications/marketing, accessibility and inclusion, and alignment with UU mission and goals.
- Proactively gather and interpret student and community feedback.
- Advocate for student and campus needs as they relate to UU’s facilities, programs and services, including future-facing renovation and programmatic priorities.
- Offer input on building and space-related projects, Facilities Use Policy, and long-range planning, including stewardship of the unions’ distinctive history and identities.
- Annually review the budget and key performance indicators.
- Strengthen community connection and belonging by supporting UU’s role as the centers for student engagement.
