Visitor Parking
There is metered parking available in front of the Union on either side of State Street and behind the Union on Thompson Street. There is also a visitor parking lot at 400 Thompson Street (behind the Michigan Union) near the Student Affairs Building.
Driving Directions
From Detroit and Metro Airport (heading West):
Take I-94 West to the State Street exit (Exit 177). Turn right (north). Continue on State Street approximately two miles to the main campus area. The Michigan Union is on your left at the South State Street and South University Avenue intersection.
Take I-94 West to the State Street exit (Exit 177). Turn right (north). Continue on State Street approximately two miles to the main campus area. The Michigan Union is on your left at the South State Street and South University Avenue intersection.
From Chicago (heading East):
Take I-94 East to the State Street exit (Exit 177). Turn left (north). Continue on State Street approximately two miles to the main campus area. The Michigan Union is on your left at the South State Street and South University Avenue intersection.
From Ohio (heading North):
Take US-23 North to the Washtenaw-“Ann Arbor” exit (Exit 37B) and merge onto Washtenaw. At the fork in the road where Stadium Boulevard and Washtenaw Avenue split (approximately two to three miles), stay to the right on Washtenaw following the “Hospital” signs. Take a left at Hill Street (you’ll see “The Rock”). Continue down Hill Street (campus buildings will be on your right). Take a right on State Street. Go two blocks. The Michigan Union is on your left at the South State Street and South University Avenue intersection.
From Northern MI (heading South):
Take I-75 South to US-23 South to M-14 West. Take the “Downtown Ann Arbor” exit (Exit 3); this will become Main Street. Follow Main Street to William Street. Turn left at William Street. Continue down William Street until it ends at State Street. Turn right on State Street. Go one block. The Michigan Union is on your right at the intersection of South State Street and South University Avenue.
From Northwest Suburbs:
Take I-696 to I-275 South to M-14 West. Follow M-14 West signs closely. Take the “Downtown Ann Arbor” exit (Exit 3); this will become Main Street. Follow Main Street to William Street. Turn left at William Street. Continue down William Street until it ends at State Street. Turn right on State Street. Go one block. The Michigan Union is on your right at the intersection of South State Street and South University Avenue.

Visitor Parking
Metered parking is available on Thayer, Washington and other streets surrounding the Michigan League. There is also a public parking lot on Maynard Street, three blocks west of the Union. There are two handicapped parking spots in the circle drive of the North University Avenue building entrance.

Take I-94 West to US-23 North (Exit 180). From US-23, take the “Plymouth Road” exit (Exit 41) and turn left. Go approximately two miles and take a left on Murfin Road (there’s a BP gas station on the right). Go past the four-way stop sign and down a hill. The Pierpont Commons (and visitor parking) is on the left.
Take I-94 East to US-23 North (Exit 180). From US-23, take the “Plymouth Road” exit (Exit 41) and turn left. Go approximately two miles and take a left on Murfin Road (there’s a BP gas station on the right). Go past the four-way stop sign and down a hill. The Pierpont Commons (and visitor parking) is on the left. (Easiest way for directions, but also the longest)

Take I-94 East to M-14 East (towards Plymouth) to US-23 South (follow the signs carefully). From US-23, take the “Plymouth Road” exit (Exit 41) and turn right. Go approximately two miles and take a left on Murfin Road (there’s a BP gas station on the right). Go past the four-way stop sign and down a hill. The Pierpont Commons (and visitor parking) is on the left.
From Ohio (heading North):
Take US-23 North to the “Plymouth Road” exit (Exit 41). Turn left off the exit onto Plymouth. Go approximately two miles and take a left onto Murfin Road (there’s a BP gas station on the right).
