Block M in the Union Courtyard
Our first stop is the most beloved building on Central Campus, the Michigan Union. Head inside and strike a victorious pose next to the legendary emblem in the courtyard. Tip: You’ll get the best angle from the IdeaHub on the second floor!
Front Steps of the Union
These front steps are practically a rite of passage for any graduate. With the historic Michigan Union in the background, this shot screams “I did it!” You can be proud knowing that generations of Wolverines have taken photos in this very spot.
Michigan Union Sign
The Michigan Union sign is another iconic spot. It’s also one of the most sought-after locations for capturing group shots with friends. (Use the stepping stones so you don’t step on the flowers!)
Michigan League Garden
If you want a more elegant, sophisticated look, the flower-filled scenery of the Michigan League Garden provides a picturesque backdrop for your graduation photos. For another touch of class, head to the serene fountain near the front entrance.
Block M Mural at Pierpont Commons
Nothing tops the beautiful woodlands of North Campus to commemorate your special day. Just inside Pierpont, you can snap a classic, must-have shot in front of this popular mural. Because there’s nothing more iconically “Michigan” than a big Block M.
Festive Backdrops
Last but not least, embrace your maize-and-blue spirit in front of festive balloons! These fun, celebratory backdrops are located across from our information desks in the Union and League, and in the B430 Lounge on the ground floor of Pierpont.
