Computer Access

Technology is an ever-present part of our daily lives. At the Michigan Union, we understand that access to computers is at the top of your list. We boast some of the best access to computing on campus, providing wireless Internet access for University students, faculty, and staff, and connectivity for University guests at the Campus Information Center.

Cyberstations

If you are looking for a quick place to check e-mail, we have 11 stations in the ground floor of the Michigan Union Grill (MUG) area and 6 stations at the north end of the 4th floor in the Michigan Union. Location: Michigan Union Ground Floor (MUG), first floor of the Michigan Union (near the coffee shop), and north end of the fourth floor of the Michigan Union (across from the Office of Greek Life) Hours: Michigan Union building hours


Printing

There are several printers available at the Michigan Union. Be sure to visit mprint.umich.edu if you would like to arrange to have something printed at one of the Union printers from your laptop. The printers are listed as follows:

ITCS

The Information Technology Central Services works to connect the campus community by providing high quality, cost-effective technology and communications services and facilities. Through innovative campus partnerships and collaborations, ITCS supports the academic and educational goals of the University by maintaining a world-class technology infrastructure that facilitates learning, teaching, and research. The ITCS Accounts Office assists with computing accounts, subscriptions, uniqnames, passwords, and billing inquiries regarding ITCS services. The Accounts Office provides walk-in assistance at the U-M Computer Showcase on the Michigan Union's ground floor, across from the bookstore.

Michigan Union Campus Computing Site

The Michigan Union Campus Computing Site offers many useful services to the University community: cyber stations, which provide a quick and easy way to check your e-mail or surf the web; color printing, which is located near the black & white printers and is available for use by all current UM Students, Faculty & Staff; a scanner station; and a tabloid printer that prints black & white 11x17 pages.

ITCS Computer Support & Repair
ITCS Computer Support and Repair Service is housed at the U-M Computer Showcase in the Michigan Union, and it handles warranty and non-warranty repairs for Apple and Dell computers. Some of the services provided include hardware repair, software support service, and assistance with virus scanning, troubleshooting, and operating system problems. The Computer Support and Repair Service operates on a first-come, first-served basis. The service is offered to all Students, Staff & Faculty of U-M.

Virtual Sites

Can't afford that extra software? With Virtual Sites, you can use the software on Campus Computing Sites Windows workstations remotely from any Mac or Windows computer with an internet connection.
